Consolidate Student Loans Now

Tuesday, May 31st, 2005

Federal student loans like Stafford and PLUS loans’ rates are updated once each year in the summertime. Over the past two years, the three year Treasury Bill (what the rates on these loans are tied to) has risen. The rates on these loans are set to be changed or updated on after June 30th, 2005. So, if you have various different student loans, now may be a good time to consolidate your loans. You have about 30 days to get this going, so don’t waste any time. Rates will not likely be as low as they are again for quite a while.

When should I sign up for the SAT or ACT?

Wednesday, May 4th, 2005

If you haven’t signed up for the June SAT yet and you want to, you may sign up on www.collegeboard.com by May 11th with a late registration fee. For the June 11th ACT, sign up by May 6th. Otherwise, the late registration for the ACT is May 7-20. SAT practice group learning or one-on-one tutoring? Is your child works well in groups and has mid-ranged results on the SAT, then you can save some money and have him/her enroll in a group session. However, if your child is a really low or really high scorer and needs specific help (i.e. the essay, math concepts, vocab, reading speed) I’d recommend one-on-one tutoring.
